Lucy Charles
Lucy Charles, MA, MLitt, RICS, began her career as Gallery Assistant before becoming an independent Curator, Art Dealer and Art Market Professional working in London & central Europe. Lucy holds both a Masters in Modern & Contemporary Art and a Masters in Professional Art Market Practice including Economics & Law. She is also a RICS registered Mediator and Valuer.
As an accomplished and experienced art historian Lucy has procured several different artworks for private collectors and institutions as an intermediary for artwork sales and acquisitions covering works valued at £50,000 up to £10,000,000.
Lucy has helped to solve a number of complex disputes and advises as an Expert Witness in provenance and divorce cases.
Her work in alternative dispute resolution has often prevented adverse publicity which could affect the value and tarnish the reputation of culturally important works of art.
Oliver Charles
Oliver Charles has an MA in art history alongside his extensive qualifications and experience within the field of Law. He is also a recognised international expert advising the international art community concerning the issues of the use of art within money laundering.
He has lectured for over 27 years at a number of universities both in the UK and the EU at both undergraduate and postgraduate in the areas of accounting and finance, forensic accounting, most fields of civil and commercial law, the ethics and conduct of the legal profession, together with art history and art fraud.
Oliver’s enviable expertise ensures our buyers can purchase works of art from our gallery with peace of mind, content in the knowledge that the works offered for sale have passed all due diligence relating to legal title and provenance research.
